Engineering Tech Talk Series

Engineering Tech Talk is an industry-led seminar series delivered by local engineering professionals, showcasing real-world knowledge and experience from professionals working within the region.

The series is designed to support local engineering communities by encouraging knowledge sharing and connection between professionals, students, and industry stakeholders. With hundreds of EIT students studying while working across the region’s engineering and industrial sectors, the series reflects EIT’s long-standing commitment to developing and celebrating industry-ready engineering professionals.

Following the success of Parts 1 and 2, this third installment in the Maintenance Excellence series continues the discussion on improving maintenance performance and asset reliability. Building on earlier sessions that explored maintenance strategies and the integration of Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM), this session focuses on Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies used to identify and eliminate the underlying causes of equipment, process, and operational failures.

Seminar Details

This session will introduce attendees to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies commonly used within engineering, maintenance, and industrial environments. Participants can expect to gain a clearer understanding of structured problem-solving techniques, incident investigation methods, and widely used RCA tools that support the identification of underlying operational issues.

The seminar will also explore effective corrective action planning to help prevent recurring failures, improve reliability and safety, and enhance overall operational performance. Through real-world maintenance and operational case studies, attendees will gain practical insights into applying RCA principles within their own workplace environments.
