Post-study Work Opportunities: After You Graduate

In November 2019, Perth received regional status from the Australian Federal Government. For international students, this means you may be eligible to stay in Western Australia for four to six years after completing undergraduate or postgraduate study. Students may be eligible to stay in Melbourne for up to 4 years.

Post-study work opportunities are available to all on-campus graduates of EIT, which means you can apply for a Post-Study Work Visa upon completion of your qualification. A Post-Study Work Visa gives you the opportunity to gain more work experience in Australia, after you graduate. And subsequently, you could be eligible for skills assessments required for a Skilled Visa application.

Australian Government announced changes to the Temporary Graduate visa program as part of its recent Migration Strategy. These changes should take effect from 1 July 2024, subject to passage of legislative amendments. You can find more information at Changes to the Temporary Graduate visa programs.
