Whether your goal is to reskill or gain new compliance Undergraduate Certificates with EIT offers a valuable six-month qualification.
These certificates are a good option for recent school graduates that want to enter the engineering field since it offers a thorough introduction into core engineering disciplines.
At the same time, these six-month certificates offer working engineers an introduction into other disciplines and can also assist in gaining entrance into a Bachelor of Science degree.
Upon successful completion of an Undergraduate Certificate, you can transfer credits of your courses to a Bachelor of Science degree with EIT in the same discipline as the Undergraduate Certificate.
Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP)
Domestic students may be eligible for subsidies provided by the Australian government, including through a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP).
Enrolling in a CSP means the Australian Government pays for part of your course. To be eligible for a CSP, you must be one of the following:
- An Australian citizen, who will live and study in Australia for some of the course; or
- A New Zealand citizen, who will live and study in Australia for the whole course; or
- A permanent visa holder, who will live and study in Australia for the whole course.
Student Contribution
CSPs are currently available for our Undergraduate Certificate and Graduate Certificate programs. The student contribution amount for these courses if granted a Commonwealth Supported Place is only AU$100.
This means that the fees for these courses will be reduced from AU$4,195.20 (Undergraduate Certificates) or AU$4,760 (Graduate Certificates) to AU$100 (AU$25 per unit).

A reduced student contribution fee of AU$100 only applies to select Graduate Certificates with the intake dates 28/03/2022 and 27/06/2022 and Undergraduate Certificates with the intake date 25/07/2022.
Eligible students are able to defer their student contribution payment through HECS-HELP. Eligibility requirements for deferring payment through HECS-HELP apply. Further information can be accessed here.

All the courses are aimed to meet the requirements for engineers and technicians that are working or want to work in the field of engineering. These courses aim to provide an entry into the industry but also assist engineers to further their education by entering a Bachelor Degree with EIT.
Entry Requirements for Undergraduate Certificates in Engineering
Entry is available to applicants who hold one of the following:
- Year 12: Australian Senior Certificate of Education (or equivalent), completed within the past three years, with a minimum score of 60% in Maths. Applicants who have completed Year 12 (or equivalent) more than three years ago are required to also demonstrate two years of relevant work experience in the field of study applied for; OR
- A relevant Engineering AQF Certificate IV (or equivalent overseas qualification) with successful completion of all Maths units/modules plus two years relevant work experience in the field of study applied for.
- An Engineering AQF Diploma (or higher) (or equivalent overseas qualification) with successful completion of all Maths units/modules.
- English Language Proficiency Requirements: Entry to this course requires demonstration of English language proficiency at the level of an IELTS overall score of at least 6.0 (with no individual band score less than 5.5)
