The Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT) has launched new courses; nine micro-credentials and one graduate certificate. These courses cover a range of engineering fields, including mechanical, electrical, industrial automation, and renewable energy.

Additionally, EIT will be hosting its Virtual Open Week this October. This is a great opportunity to explore the new courses and gain detailed insights into the programs offered at EIT.

At EIT we understand the dynamic nature of industry trends and the rapid evolution of technology, which is why we continually strive to create new courses that align with current and emerging needs.

By staying at the forefront of these developments, we ensure that our students are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills demanded by the industry.

Each course is designed following consultation with industry, and we endeavor to incorporate cutting-edge technology, best practices, and real-world applications.

EIT’s New Courses

EIT has new courses
Knowledge is power

The 9 Professional Certificates of Competency are 3-month, non-accredited courses for technicians, technologists, engineers, and engineering professionals seeking professional development in a specific area.

The Professional Certificates of Competency feature live interactive webinars delivered by expert instructors with technical know-how and for assistance there are dedicated learning support officers. These courses are designed to keep all industry practitioners at the cutting-edge of emerging trends and to promote career progression.

The new Graduate Certificate Course – 52914WA Graduate Certificate in Mechatronics – is a six-month, part-time intensive Australian accredited course which can be completed alongside full time work.

Let’s take a closer look at these new courses.

52914WA Graduate Certificate in Mechatronics: This interdisciplinary course covers the essential knowledge required to develop expertise in the broadly-based subject of mechatronics, combining electronics, robotics, autonomous systems, automation, control theory and computer science.

Professional Certificate of Competency in Fundamentals of Electric Vehicles: This course covers the fundamentals, components, and future impact of electric vehicles, equipping students with essential knowledge and insights into this evolving industry.

Professional Certificate of Competency in Carbon Capture: In this course, students will discover how carbon capture and storage technology grips climate-warming carbon dioxide emissions before they pollute the air. This captured CO2 is then safely stored underground, helping to bring down atmospheric carbon dioxide levels.

Professional Certificate of Competency in Dual Fuel Engines: After the completion of this course, students will understand the fundamentals of dual-fuel engines, and it will serve as a refresher for practicing engineers.

Professional Certificate of Competency in Digital Twins and Simulation Monitoring: Students will gain expertise in 3D visualization, simulation, and data analysis tools essential for pre-manufacturing phases. Through practical exercises using industry-leading software, they will develop proficiency in simulation and modeling methods.

Professional Certificate of Competency in Flow Measurement and Fiscal Flow Fundamentals: This course will cover flow measurement in plant operations and the basics of fiscal flow in real-world scenarios. It takes a theory-and-practice approach to accommodate participants from diverse backgrounds.

Professional Certificate of Competency in Fundamentals of Green Hydrogen Technology: In this course, students will learn about the fundamentals of hydrogen energy and the challenges associated with green hydrogen adoption. Green hydrogen, as a clean energy source, aims to replace grey and brown hydrogen in its most impactful applications. This substitution can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote a more sustainable energy future.

Professional Certificate of Competency in Geotechnical Monitoring and Structural Instrumentation: This course will introduce instruments and methods used in geotechnical analysis, discusses the processing, presentation, and interpretation of monitoring data, procedures for forensic geotechnical investigation, and techniques for ground improvement through case studies. It will also explore the usage of these instruments in studying the behavior of structural elements.

Professional Certificate of Competency in Repair of Concrete: This program will discuss these defects comprehensively, including their causes of failure the range of remedial methods. Materials play a crucial role in the repair process, and advancements in technology have introduced new repair products. Using these judiciously can achieve the required standard of repair perfection. The right combination of method and material ensures effective repairs and maximizes the lifespan of concrete structures.

Professional Certificate of Competency in Energy Storage: This course will focus on different types of energy storage technologies, their performance and applications. In addition, the course will discuss the safety and performance of battery storage systems.

Professional Certificate of Competency in Practical Troubleshooting and Problem Solving of PLCs and SCADA Systems: This course will help identify and solve common issues with PLCs, SCADA systems, and their communication links. It will focus on practical solutions rather than theory, providing the necessary skills to troubleshoot and prevent problems.

At EIT, we are committed to fostering a learning environment where innovation thrives and where students are empowered to become leaders in their fields.

By offering courses that are constantly evolving with industry trends and cutting-edge technology, we equip our graduates with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in today’s competitive landscape and contribute meaningfully to the future of their industries.
