Leading the panel discussion is Dr Akhlaqur Rahman, EIT Course Coordinator and On-Campus Lecturer – School of Industrial Automation Engineering
Dr. Akhlaqur Rahman (AK) is a Course Coordinator and Lecturer at the Engineering Institute of Technology specializing in Industrial Automation. He holds a PhD and has over ten years of teaching experience across Bangladesh, Australia, and online. AK is an accomplished researcher with 20+ publications, focusing on areas like cloud networked robotics, Industry 4.0, energy efficiency, and IoT. He has also received numerous accolades, including the Swinburne Emerging Leadership Award and the IEEE Travel Grant. Additionally, AK is a Competent Communicator and a former MATLAB Student Ambassador.
Professor Akhtar Kalam
Professor Akhtar Kalam is a highly experienced academic and industry professional with a focus on energy systems. His expertise includes power system analysis, renewable energy, smart grids, cogeneration systems, and energy education. He has been actively involved in teaching energy systems at various levels, offering professional courses on topics like renewable energy, power system protection, and cogeneration both in Australia and internationally. Professor Kalam has published over 470 works and written 29 books, providing consultancy to electrical utilities and manufacturers worldwide. His research and teaching contributions have significantly advanced the field of energy systems.
Diana Quiceno, Company Director at BLD ENG
With over 15 years of experience in project management across the Railway, Energy/Power, Airports, Water, and Telecommunications sectors, Diana specializes in delivering complex infrastructure projects from inception to completion. Her expertise lies in leading cross-functional teams, optimizing processes, and driving strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency and project outcomes. Diana is the founder of BLD Engineers, a specialized consultancy providing engineering services across railway, energy, road, and airport infrastructure projects. As a certified Social Enterprise, BLD Engineers actively promotes inclusion by integrating women and migrant engineers into the workforce, driving meaningful change in both the industry and society.
Dr. Pramod Sripada, Manager at dss+
With over 12 years of experience in renewable energy, Dr. Sripanda is a dynamic leader who blends technical expertise with strategic vision to deliver impactful, sustainable solutions across global markets. A seasoned project manager and team mentor, he specializes in driving decarbonisation initiatives and guiding cross-functional teams to success for B2B clients in utilities, mining, and manufacturing.
