Design & Prototyping – Think It. Design It. Make It.
Our Design & Prototyping Bootcamp returns following great feedback from 2025. High school students tackle a real-world design challenge, combining creative design thinking with practical engineering principles, from concept to functional prototype.
Note for returning students: If you’ve attended the Design & Prototyping bootcamp before, keep an eye out – new workshops and advanced challenges are coming soon.

- Tickets: $119 AUD inclusive of GST per student
This one-day bootcamp runs from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM at EIT Perth Campus, 6 Thelma Street, West Perth WA 6005. It’s designed for Year 9–10 high school students with some experience in 3D printing and design. Tickets are $119 inclusive of GST per student, and spots are limited to ensure hands-on mentorship.
What to Expect
Students work in teams to solve a real-world design challenge, applying design thinking and engineering principles to take an idea from concept to digital prototype. Throughout the day, they’ll brainstorm, sketch, and model designs in professional CAD software, preparing them for 3D printing and presentation. The bootcamp concludes with a showcase judged by experts, and the winning design will be 3D printed and delivered.

Inclusions & Notes
All learning materials are provided, along with a certificate of participation and prizes for top teams. Students must bring lunch and a water bottle, and afternoon tea will be provided. Full supervision for the full day, and all facilitators hold Working With Children checks. A structured sign-in and sign-out process ensures safety, and parent consent is required for independent departure.

Refund Policy: Cancellations must be received via email to pippa.dold@eit.edu.au. Cancellations received less than 3 days prior to the event are non-refundable.
