Make It.\nOur Design & Prototyping Bootcamp returns following great feedback from 2025. High school students tackle a real-world design challenge\, combining creative design thinking with practical engineering principles\, from concept to functional prototype. \nNote for returning students: If you’ve attended the Design & Prototyping bootcamp before\, keep an eye out – new workshops and advanced challenges are coming soon. \nEvent Details\n\nDate: Tuesday\, 14 April 2026\nTime: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM\nLocation: EIT Perth Campus\, 6 Thelma Street\, West Perth\, WA\, 6005\nWho Can Join: Year 9-10 high school students\nInclusions: All learning materials\, welcome pack\, certificate of participation\, prizes\nAfternoon Tea: Provided by EIT (please inform us of any allergies)\nLunch: BYO Lunch and water bottle\nTickets: $119 AUD inclusive of GST per student\n\nThis one-day bootcamp runs from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM at EIT Perth Campus\, 6 Thelma Street\, West Perth WA 6005. It’s designed for Year 9–10 high school students with some experience in 3D printing and design. Tickets are $119 inclusive of GST per student\, and spots are limited to ensure hands-on mentorship. \nWhat to Expect\nStudents work in teams to solve a real-world design challenge\, applying design thinking and engineering principles to take an idea from concept to digital prototype. Throughout the day\, they’ll brainstorm\, sketch\, and model designs in professional CAD software\, preparing them for 3D printing and presentation. The bootcamp concludes with a showcase judged by experts\, and the winning design will be 3D printed and delivered. \nWhy Join\nThis bootcamp brings 3D printing to life through real engineering thinking\, problem-solving\, and design. \nParticipants will: \n\nTackle a unique\, constrained design challenge\nApply creative problem-solving and engineering knowledge\nCollaborate with peers\, iterate on their ideas\, and present their solutions\n\nIt’s hands-on\, challenging\, and designed to stretch creativity while giving a real taste of the engineering process. \nBootcamp Facilitator\n \nDr Arti Siddhpura\, Senior Lecturer and Research Coordinator \nInclusions & Notes\nAll learning materials are provided\, along with a certificate of participation and prizes for top teams. Students must bring lunch and a water bottle\, and afternoon tea will be provided. Full supervision for the full day\, and all facilitators hold Working With Children checks. A structured sign-in and sign-out process ensures safety\, and parent consent is required for independent departure. \nRefund & Special Requirements\nRefund Policy: Cancellations must be received via email to pippa.dold@eit.edu.au.
