Seminar Details

Botswana’s energy landscape is changing, with increasing opportunities to integrate renewable energy technologies into the electricity network. This session will explore how Botswana’s 11 kV and 33 kV electrical networks can evolve to accommodate solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage and distributed generation.

Attendees will learn about the engineering considerations involved in modernizing medium-voltage networks, including the technologies and infrastructure needed to support a more flexible and reliable electricity grid.

The session will also examine some of the challenges and opportunities associated with grid modernization and the transition towards more sustainable energy systems in Botswana.
