Emeritus Professor Akhtar Kalam’s Electrifying Mysteries
This webinar series provides a structured examination of real-world engineering challenges. Each session will address specific, technically focused topics relevant to professional engineers.
Webinar details
A long-serving electrical circuit gradually exhibited unusual voltage and load characteristics. What initially appeared to be equipment ageing was eventually linked to subtle deterioration within the electrical distribution system. This case highlights the long-term effects of poor connections and conductor degradation.
- The webinar will be recorded and will be sent out to registered attendees afterwards.
- A certificate of attendance will be provided to attendees who request one near the end of the live webinar session.
- Please note: the time stated on this event is in UTC. You will need to convert this to your own time zone.
Key takeaways from this webinar
- Understand the impact of conductor degradation and high-resistance joints.
- Analyze voltage imbalance and phase-related abnormalities.
- Recognize symptoms associated with progressive electrical deterioration.
- Apply measurement and testing techniques to locate hidden faults.
- Evaluate maintenance strategies for ageing electrical assets.
- Develop asset management approaches that minimize long-term reliability risks.
