Aggregate Production Planning through Memetic Passing Vehicle Search
Dr Milind Siddhpura31 May, 2023
Aggregate production planning (APP) deals with the simultaneous determination of plant’s production, inventory and vocation levels over a finite time horizon. The aim of aggregate production planning is to finalize overall output levels in the near to medium future in uncertain demands. In this paper, three different cases of aggregate...Read More
Review on Ship Onboard Machinery Maintenance Strategy Selection Using Multi-Criteria Optimization
Dr Arti Siddhpura and Dr Milind Siddhpura31 May, 2023
Marine shipping is an important aspect of the transportation system in Canada. It is estimated that 70-80% of items that we are surrounded by and use daily are brought by ships. Canadian businesses need to sell to the world and ships carries their products abroad. For people that live in...Read More
Periodic advancement of aluminium metal matrix composites: tribo-mechanical performance, corrosion properties, challenges and future
Dr Manu Sam24 May, 2023
Abrupt advancement in technologies lead to growing thirst for efficient and economical alternative materials that possess superior properties. This lead to a gradual shift from the use of monolithic alloys to Metal Matrix Composites (MMCs). High resistance to corrosion and wear makes Aluminium MMC (AMMC) the most promising variant for...Read More
Evaluation of Civil Engineering students’ performance comparing online versus on-campus delivery mode
Dr Ana Evangelista, Indumathi V and Dr Shasha Wang22 May, 2023
Over the last decade, the educational sector worldwide has been steadily embracing the digital technology revolution by integrating industry 4.0 and web 3.0/4.0/5.0 concepts. Many higher education institutions are leveraging this opportunity offered by the advancements in digital technology and are strongly investing in e-Learning systems offering flexible and blended...Read More
Using electroencephalography (EEG) to Determine Student Attention in the Classroom
Indumathi V22 May, 2023
The Higher Education landscape caters to the learning requirement for a large and diverse cohort of students. With diversity comes the additional challenge for educators to design engaging learning content and environment that holds the student's attention in the classroom. This paper presents the evolution of a PhD research topic...Read More
Comparative Response Spectrum Analysis on 15- and 50-Story Reinforced Concrete Buildings Having Shear Walls with and without Openings as per EN1998-1 Seismic Code
Dr Ana Evangelista16 May, 2023
Medium-rise reinforced concrete (RC) framed apartment complexes with stories ranging from 15 to 50 are becoming more common in Ethiopia’s main cities. In these RC-framed structures, shear walls are included for lateral load resistance. As apertures are frequently provided in shear walls, it is critical to evaluate their influence on...Read More
Cloud-Empowered Data-Centric Paradigm for Smart Manufacturing
Dr Akhlaqur Rahman3 April, 2023
In the manufacturing industry, there are claims about a novel system or paradigm to overcome current data interpretation challenges. Anecdotally, these studies have not been completely practical in real-world applications (e.g., data analytics). This article focuses on smart manufacturing (SM), proposed to address the inconsistencies within manufacturing that are often...Read More
Effect of Fiber Type and Content on dynamic tensile behavior of Fiber-Reinforced High-Strength Concrete determined by a split Hopkinson pressure bar
Dr Shasha Wang31 March, 2023
This paper presents an experimental study on the dynamic tensile performance of high-strength concrete reinforced with fibers of different types and contents. In total, five different high-strength concretes with a similar compressive strength of 85 MPa were investigated. One of the five concrete was a plain high-strength concrete (HSC) as...Read More
Improving reciprocal tribo-mechanical performance and corrosion resistance using carbide ceramics: T6 thermal-treated A333 mono-hybrid functionally graded composites
Dr Manu Sam21 March, 2023
Thermally treated functionally graded aluminum hybrid composite is an innovative solution to the expanding mechanical and tribological needs of the marine industry. Through horizontal centrifugal casting, gradation of secondary (SiC) and primary (B4C) ceramics improves the reciprocal wear resistance of 6 wt%B4C/4 wt%SiC/A333 hybrid composite over 6 wt%B4C/A333 mono-composite and A333 alloy. Advanced characterization demonstrates the...Read More
A comprehensive review on recent developments in materials and technological parameters for plasma transferred arc hard facing process
Dr Milind Siddhpura9 February, 2023
Critical equipments of process and heavy engineering industries are prone to significant wear due to intense service conditions. Uneven and uncontrolled wear causes significant changes in dimensional and geometrical accuracies of the part surfaces, which adversely affect the parts’ functionality and service life of these parts. Shorter service life of...Read More
