For the Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT) this year has been defined by a continued passion for engineering education and some hard-won achievements, including campus expansions, new accreditations, and global community initiatives.
2025 began with an extensive audit by Engineers Australia (EA) resulting in accreditation for several Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Higher Education (HE) programs under the Dublin, Sydney, and Washington Accords. This, together with the auditors’ commendations, demonstrate our commitment to quality education and adherence to global standards. EA’s recognitionhighlights EIT’s scrupulous attention to course design, innovative delivery and student support.
EIT was also awarded a place on the Australian Government’s Microcredential Pilot Program. It has allowed us to develop flexible, industry-focused learning options that meet the evolving needs of those who work in engineering industries around the world.
Aside from recognition, it has been a year of purposeful growth.
During 2025 we expanded our Melbourne Campus, and launched our learning hub in Gaborone, Botswana. Both entities have created new spaces for hands-on, connected learning.
The STEM Holiday Boot Camp, held on our Perth Campus, once again inspired high school students, sparking curiosity and excitement about engineering. With expansion plans already in motion for 2026, we’re helping to shape the next generation of innovators.
Visits from guest speakers and industry site tours helped bridge classroom learning with real-world experience for our campus students. And EngineerConnect events – show-casing experts from industry – gave our students and visitors the opportunity to engage with professionals on topics which are current and vital.
Looking ahead, EIT is working towards becoming a University College.
At the heart of EIT’s success is our community: our students, alumni and staff, all of whom demonstrate what it means to engineer with purpose.
One of the year’s most inspiring moments came in July, when EIT staff built and donated three water filtration and emergency kits for families in the Kyaka II Refugee Settlement Camp in Uganda. This project was a powerful reminder that engineering can change lives.

Our Doctor of Engineering (DEng) Conference showcased the depth of our research community, as students and staff presented projects that address real-world engineering challenges. Meanwhile, our 2025 Student Ambassadors proudly represented EIT across various events and the world, embodying our values of innovation, leadership, and impact.
The continued growth of our sister companies, Engineering College of Technology (UK) and Engineering College of Science and Technology (South Africa), has strengthened the EIT ecosystem, creating clear pathways from school to tertiary education and beyond.
Together, we’re building an interconnected learning environment that supports lifelong learning, shares expertise, and equips engineers to thrive in a changing world, at every career stage.
The year ahead is full of promise. In 2026, EIT will launch five new programs (subject to accreditation).
We plan to increase our free technical webinars - which reach students in over 100 countries - and to expand our EngineerConnect events, to boost knowledge and collaboration in our global engineering community.
Together with ECT and ECST, we move into next year with one shared mission, to build a better future by delivering engineering education that empowers innovators, problem solvers, and leaders.
And we all wish you a safe and fulfilling 2026.
