Overview:
Nic Gara (5 Aug 1946 – 17 Nov 2023) was a dedicated, highly respected educator and a passionate advocate of lifelong learning. He was committed to engineering and education, garnering experience in Australia and the Middle East. He shared his expertise as an academic in higher education, but his abiding love was for the vocational sector where he taught mechanical and production engineering and where he served in a range of leadership roles. One of his colleagues remembers him as, ‘articulate, analytical, measured in thought and action, honest, fair and kind.’
This scholarship is offered, in his honor, to women who are aspiring engineering technicians.
