The Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT) is taking engineering education beyond the classroom as it brings its industry-focused approach to careers and education expos across Australia to inspire the next generation of engineering professionals.
Throughout the 2026 expo season, EIT’s presence created new opportunities to introduce prospective students to the possibilities of engineering.
EIT’s 2026 expo calendar featured four major careers and education events across Australia.
The season began with the Perth Careers Expo, held from 13th–16th May at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC), followed by the Melbourne Career Expo from 17th–19th July at the Melbourne Exhibition & Convention Center (MECC). EIT then returned to Perth for the Perth SkillsWest Careers & Employment Expo, held last 23rd–25th July at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Throughout these events, EIT connected directly with students, professionals, and career changers exploring their next steps in engineering and technology, while also engaging with parents and educators interesting in learning more about the opportunities in the field. These conversations helped EIT connect with people at different stages of the education and career journey, from those considering their own future to those supporting the next generation of engineering professionals.
At the expos, these conversations extended beyond course information. Visitors were able to speak directly with the EIT team about study pathways and career opportunities, while getting a closer look at EIT’s blended learning model and practical, industry-focused approach to engineering education.
Beyond showcasing its approach at the expos, EIT also strengthened its engagement with local communities through school careers events across Perth.
EIT Course Advisor Manager Michele Hornett and EIT Course Advisor Jasmine Ferrari represented the institution at these events, where they spoke directly with students about possible study pathways and helped them explore the career opportunities available within the engineering sector. These interactions were supported by the work that took place behind the scenes to ensure each event was an effective opportunity to connect with prospective students.
As for Michele, this preparation was an important part of making EIT’s participation meaningful and ensuring the team could make the most of every opportunity to engage with the community.
“The 2026 expo season was an outstanding time for EIT to connect with communities across Australia and share the real-world impact of our programs,” she said. “Behind our presence at these major events was significant effort from the team in planning displays, coordinating attendance, and creating engaging experiences.”
Looking ahead, EIT will continue to build its momentum by continuing to participate in careers and education expos across Australia, creating new opportunities to inspire future engineering professionals and showcase the possibilities of an engineering education.
