The Graduate Certificate in Chemical and Process Engineering covers knowledge and skills underpinning processes and phenomena related to mass transfer and associated separation processes and equipment, thermodynamics and heat transfer applications heating and cooling systems, multi-phase flow, and solid transportation. This certificate will also prepare you with the requisite knowledge to comprehend, manage, and resolve issues within detailed process dynamics and control systems.
The learning outcomes of the course is designed to equip students with professional engineering skills and knowledge to identify, analyze and apply advanced knowledge in process and phenomena related to mass transfer and associate separation processes and heat transfer applications with sound engineering judgement of solutions relevant to the Professional engineering domain through the application of these concepts, and to develop the problem-solving skills essential to good engineering practice.
You must complete 12 credit points comprising four core units. There are no electives in this program. The program duration is six months across two terms, and you will study two units per term. For further study, graduates may consider EIT’s Master of Engineering (Mechanical).

To gain entry into this program, applicants need one of the following:
An appropriate level of English Language Proficiency equivalent to an English pass level in an Australian Senior Certificate of Education, or an IELTS score of 6.5 (with no individual band less than 6), or equivalent as outlined in the EIT Admissions Policy.
* With integrated compulsory 12-week professional industry experience, training or project work of which 6 weeks are directly supervised by a professional/eligible professional engineer as determined by EIT.

Job outcomes include but are not limited to: Process Engineer or Chemical Engineer in food, pharmaceutical, specialty chemicals, hydrocarbons (including petrochemicals), bioprocesses, polymer and paper manufacturing industries.
Our graduate certificates take six months to complete. We deliver our online graduate certificates on a part-time intensive basis. Part-time Students are expected to spend approximately 10-15 hours per week per unit learning the program material and completing assessments. This includes attending tutorials.
