DESCRIPTION:The live presentation of this event has already taken place. To download the recording and presentation slides\, please complete the form below.\n \nJoin engineering experts to learn more about transitioning towards industry 5.0\, from a smart manufacturing perspective. \nThe adoption of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)\, also known as Industry 4.0 has seen a significant growth in recent years due to the availability of massive computing power\, innovations in the data-processing technology and the advent of machine learning algorithms. This is prominent in the manufacturing industry where smart IoT-enabled smart manufacturing has supported; streamlined business operations\, optimized productivity and improvements on the return of investment. \nIncreasingly industries are adopting an advanced automated mode of technology. It is critical\, therefore\, that engineers working in the sector understand the systems and processes that contribute to Industry 4.0. and become familiar with the innovations on the horizon\, in Industry 5.0. \nEIT’s Deputy Dean\, Ms Indumathi V and Dr. Akhlaqur Rahman\, EIT’s Course Coordinator and Lecturer – Industrial Automation Engineering\, will provide an insight into transitioning towards industry 5.0. \nThis is a must-attend event for engineering professionals and aspiring engineers alike. \nReserve your spot at this free webinar today! \nThe webinar will be recorded and will be sent out to registered attendees afterwards. SUMMARY:Engineering Tips & Tricks from EIT's Industry Experienced Expert Lecturers
DESCRIPTION:About this Event\n\n\nJoin our live webinar to learn from EIT’s industry expert lecturers based around the globe. We’ll provide you an overview of EIT’s main schools of engineering and you’ll have an insight into the lives of five of our lecturers who are working in industry\, but also teach for EIT. \nMeet our Lecturers \nDr Seema Karami teaches civil & structural engineering\, and works full-time as a civil engineer in Perth\, Western Australia. \n“I have been working in different projects in various continents and have learned a lot from many people and being diverse. \n“In my previous job as Manager Infrastructure and Assets at the City of Perth\, I improved technical documents\, quality of the contracts and projects\, improved the team culture and received amazing feedback from my colleagues and my team. \n“It is an honour for me to work at EIT \, teach students around the world and help them to achieve their objectives.” \nMechanical engineering lecturer Dr Lucas Skoufa says his favourite part of working in this field is how so many aspects have changed with new technologies over the last twenty years\, yet the principles have stayed the same. \nHe advises engineering graduates to\, “Make sure that they enjoy the challenge and always ask if they are not certain. Even with my experience I still ask others about something I may not fully know about; you are always learning in your career. \n“Get the hands-on experience with mechanical equipment like pumps\, valves\, pressure vessels\, and so on. The technicians you will work with appreciate engineers who have hands-on experience\, it also makes you understand the theory you learnt at university so much better.” \nDr Rodney Jacobs is an electrical engineering lecturer at EIT\, and is based in the middle regions of South Africa. He has been involved as an instructor for EIT and our sister company IDC Technologies since 2004. \nHis area of expertise includes all aspects of process control (PLC\, SCADA\, DCS\, Loop tuning)\, as well as multiple facets of electrical engineering. \nJacobs was one of the original pioneers of e-learning\, when EIT took it’s first steps into what would become a global phenomenon. Not only has he seen e-learning grow to what it is today\, but he has seen the major e-learning packages transform\, in order to keep up with the high-tech requirements and understands what it needed\, to deliver effective presentations. He has a passion for knowledge transfer and a soft spot for “gadgets and technology”. \nIndustrial automation lecturer\, Dr Hadi Harb\, has a special interest in using artificial intelligence solve industrial problems\, and has been working in this area over the past two decades. He currently lives in Barcelona\, Spain and is the co-founder of Harb Farms\, a dairy processing company in Baalbek\, Lebanon\, where he and his family manage a farm and produce dairy products. \nBruce Morrison is an online lecturer with EIT working to develop the next generations of biomedical engineering technicians within the 52705WA – Advanced Diploma of Biomedical Engineering. \nHe has over forty-five years’ experience in biomedical engineering as a technician\, engineer and manager. He has extensive experience both in NSW hospitals’ biomedical engineering departments and across developing countries with long periods spent in Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste\, and several shorter periods in eight Pacific Island Countries. \nMr Morrison worked with NSW Health Infrastructure for five years in advising on the delivery of major and minor medical equipment to hospital redevelopment projects across NSW. \nHe now runs his own company\, Morrison Newlin Consulting with his wife Dr Kerry Newlin\, a registered nurse/nurse practitioner using his expertise in medical equipment procurement\, maintenance systems and commissioning processes. \nThis is a must-attend event for engineering professionals looking to take the next step in their career. There will be an opportunity to ask your questions live during the session. \nReserve your spot at this free webinar today! \nThe webinar will be recorded and will be sent out to registered attendees afterwards. \nPlease note: the time stated on this event is in Australian Western Standard Time (AWST). You will need to convert this to your own timezone.

SUMMARY:Industry 4.0 and Digital Twins in Engineering
DESCRIPTION:The live presentation of this event has already taken place. To download the recording and presentation slides\, please complete the form below.\n \nJoin experts in the mechanical engineering field to learn more about industry 4.0\, digital twins\, and their impact on the engineering world. \nEngineers from all different fields are prime contributors to industry 4.0 as they are responsible for connecting physical and digital systems — which ultimately create the ‘smart factories’ of the manufacturing revolution. \nNew technologies are being used to design more advanced products\, computational analysis is required to analyse complex systems\, and control systems are fully automating the operations of machines. This means engineers working in this sector need to understand the systems and processes that contribute to automation. \nHowever\, it is not just the manufacturing industry that is being revolutionized — the civil and construction fields are also seeing the benefits of industry 4.0. Smart infrastructure that can monitor conditions and communicate with engineers are changing the sector. This means engineers working in this field need to consider upskilling in the electrical engineering\, programming\, big data analysis\, machine learning and Internet of Things (IoT) domains. \nDr. Milind Siddhpura (EIT Course Coordinator and Lecturer – Mechanical & Civil Engineering) and Dr. Arti Siddhpura (EIT Lecturer – Mechanical Engineering) will cover these topics in-depth and explain how engineers can prepare themselves to work on projects in an increasingly automated world. \nReserve your spot at this free webinar today! \nPlease note: the time stated on this event is in Australian Western Standard Time (AWST). You will need to convert this to your own timezone. \nTo attend the live webinar\, please register here to receive your link. \nThe webinar will be recorded and will be sent out to registered attendees afterwards.
