We will explore the mechanics of how PD manifests (including internal\, surface\, and corona discharges) and identify the specific energy byproducts emitted by each\, such as electromagnetic waves\, acoustic signals\, and chemical tracers. By establishing a direct link between the discharge type and its physical signature\, this webinar will provide a clear framework for selecting the appropriate sensing technologies required to accurately detect\, localize\, and assess the severity of insulation defects. \nThe presentation further examines the practical application of these diagnostic tools across a wide variety of assets\, specifically addressing the inherent strengths and weaknesses of each test method.
