This session will delve into the integration of AI in mechanical\, civil\, electrical\, and chemical engineering\, highlighting real-world case studies\, success stories\, and the challenges faced in this transformation. Additionally\, it will cover some general and specific AI tools potentially useful in your engineering profession. \nDr. Shasha Wang will present: Sustainable construction materials and practices in civil engineering.\n \nThis presentation will discuss decarbonization strategies in civil engineering\, with a specific focus on building and construction. Sustainable construction materials such as green concrete and relevant policies to decarbonize through the whole life-cycle of building and construction sector will also be covered. \nA digital Certificate of Attendance will be provided after the event\, including a 50% discount to one of EIT’s Professional Certificate of Competency courses over the next 12 months. \n  \n \n  \nThis event is supported by Engineers Australia \nAbout the presenters\n \nDr Akhlaqur Rahman\, EIT Course Coordinator and On-Campus Lecturer – Industrial Automation \nDr Akhlaqur Rahman (AK) is the Academic Course Coordinator and Lecturer for the school of Industrial Automation at Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT)\, Melbourne\, Australia. AK is also member of IEEE and Engineers Australia (MIEAust). Akhlaqur completed his PhD from Swinburne University of Technology in 2019. Before joining Swinburne\, he was a Lecturer and Coordinator for the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering\, Uttara University\, Dhaka\, Bangladesh\, from 2013 to 2014. From 2018 to 2019\, he was involved as Research Assistant at Deakin University.  Overall AK has 8 years of teaching experience in Bangladesh\, Australia and Online. \n \nDr Shasha Wang\, On-Campus Lecturer – Civil Engineering \nDr Shasha Wang is an on-campus lecturer in civil engineering at Engineering Institute of Technology\, Melbourne Campus. She obtained her PhD degree in civil engineering (structural engineering) from National University of Singapore. She previously worked as a sessional lecturer at Victoria University and a research fellow at National University of Singapore. She is a passionate lecturer and has been teaching into a number of engineering courses in both Australia and Singapore.
