In 1981\, he moved to the Chamber of Mines Research Organization\, managing projects related to mechanized mining equipment and electrical systems in deep-level gold mines\, and was promoted to Engineering Branch Manager in 1987. \nIn 1988\, he co-founded TLC Software to develop engineering software solutions for industrial markets. Terry has contributed to designing electrical power quality recorders\, engine protection systems\, and medical electronics. \nA senior member of SAIEE\, a member of IEEE\, and an author of numerous technical papers\, he holds BComm and MBL degrees from UNISA.
