Program Details

Society has come to enjoy and rely upon the benefits that engineering and technology bring to our daily lives. The society in which we live today is fundamentally dependent on transportation and the urban environment in which the majority of human beings now live. The Graduate Certificate in Civil Transportation Engineering therefore addresses a very fundamental requirement in our society: the ability to provide transportation services coupled with the ability to house people in urban areas that are well-designed and effective.

The curriculum addresses a diverse range of topics geared to producing well-rounded graduates who are equipped with the knowledge that employers require in order to put graduates to work. The curriculum was developed in close consultation with practitioners who were asked to propose topics that they considered to be of most value to them as employers.

You must complete 12 credit points comprising four core units. There are no electives in this program. The program duration is six months across two terms, and you will study two units per term. For further study, graduates may consider EIT’s Master of Engineering (Civil: Structural).

Unit Code Subjects Credit Points

What I liked most about the course and EIT is the flexibility is offered regarding education. It gave me the opportunity to study and work full-time.
C Groenewald, South Africa
I enjoyed interacting with students all around the world, and seeing how the principles I have learned applies to them as well.
S Zeelie, South Africa
My line of work requires me travel quite often. I could not attend every class due to my remote locations, but still I could recap and stay on top of the study material thanks to the recordings. Also, all the Instructors were world class.
