For entry into most EIT degree programs, you need to have completed a minimum level of education similar to successful completion of Australian Year 12 with good grades.

Some examples of upper secondary qualifications and a guide to the minimum grades that EIT will consider are listed below.

Global Qualifications

International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma – Minimum aggregate score of 24 General Certificate of Education Advanced Levels (GCE “A Levels”) – Minimum grade of C in three subjects + a pass in Maths. All applications will be considered on a case by case basis and are subject to Admissions Committee approval.

India

• 60% average in best 4 academic subjects in Year 12 (excluding local language) + a minimum of 60% in Maths.

OR

• Yr 10 + Engineering Diploma with at least a 50% or C grade average in all Maths units studied during the Diploma.

Mauritius

Higher School Certificate (HSC) and General Certificate of Education (GCE) - Completed with an overall result of at least 7, with a C or above in Maths. Marks are calculated as a total of 3 Advanced Level subjects where A*/A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 and E=1. Advanced Subsidiary subjects may be considered.

Nepal

60% overall in all academic subjects in Yr 12 + a minimum of 60% in Maths.

Nigeria

Senior Secondary School (WAEC/NECO) examinations (at least 4 academic subject passes with C grade average, + a minimum of a C grade in Maths).

Pakistan

• Higher Secondary School Certificate/Intermediate Certificate - 60% average in best 4 academic subjects in final year (excluding local language) + a minimum of 60% in Maths.

Ghana

West African General Certificate of Education (A Level) / Higher School Certificate (HSC) Completed with an overall result of at least 5, with a C or above in Maths

Calculated from a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 A Level subjects where A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan GCE A-Level - Minimum grade of C in three academic subjects + a minimum C grade in Maths

Kotogakko Sotsugyo Shosho (Upper Secondary School) qualification including a pass in Maths.

Papua New Guinea

Higher School Certificate - Grade average of 3.0 on 4 point scale (or Grade of B, including Maths).

Namibia

Higher Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate (NSSC higher and ordinary level): At least 6 subjects, with maths and science subjects all studied at higher level, and all subjects passed with at least grade 3 or C.

Fiji

Fiji 7th form certificate – completed with an overall average (all subjects) of at least 60%

Bhutan

Bhutan Higher Secondary Education Certificate (BHSEC)

Grade average of 60% in four academic subjects (including Maths and excluding any local languages).

Bangaldesh

Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Grade average of 3.5 or above out of 5.

Bulgarian Diploma of Completion of Secondary Education - Grade average of at least 4.0

Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) with six O-level passes or two passes in the GCE A-levels + Satisfactory completion of one year postsecondary study at a recognised tertiary institute.

Scottish Qualifications Certificate – Higher (4 subjects) – with an average grade of C (including Math).

Somalia

Secondary School Leaving Certificate (Shahaadada Dugsiga Dare) + must have satisfactorily completed one year of study at a higher education institute or equivalent which is recognised on CEP.

China

Successful completion of Gao Kao with an aggregate of the required individual subjects which is equivalent to 60% of the overall maximum score, or a grade of 288/480, 360/600, 450/750, 486/810 or 540/900 + a score of no less than 60% in Maths.

Hong Kong

Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) – minimum of 2 passes and 1 credit (including a pass in Maths)

Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) - a minimum of 15 points for four core subjects and 2 electives and a minimum of a C in Maths

Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) or Surat Keterangan Hasil Ujian Nasional (SKHUN or previously STK) - Minimum grade average of 6.5 out of 10
