Diplomas

Overview

EIT’s Diploma courses are considered an AQF level 5 qualification in Australia and fall into the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. They’re designed to deliver practical knowledge and aim to enhance the skills of professionals already working in the industry. These qualifications are ideal for students seeking greater challenge or looking to move into a para-professional role, which may include managing or supervising other workers.

 

Delivery Mode

Delivered over 12 months intensive part time, these courses comprise of live, interactive webinars, on-the-job assessments and course work. EIT’s Diploma courses are designed to fit around the schedule of a full time professional.

Students are expected to attend scheduled live webinars, during which they are encouraged to interact with their lecturer and fellow students.

Practical components of this course are achieved via our cutting edge simulation software and remote laboratories.

To ensure students remain engaged and motivated, dedicated Learning Support Officers guide and assist them throughout their studies, and EIT’s Learning Management System provides a highly interactive college interface.

Entry Requirements

Engineering Institute of Technology Diplomas are accelerated, practical, work-oriented programs. They are designed for engineers and technicians who have some background in the relevant field.

This includes those who have technical or ‘trade’ qualifications who want to move to the next career step, those with substantial relevant work experience who need to formalize and enhance their achievements, and those with higher level qualifications in a related field who wish to develop specialist knowledge. Practical work experience in related areas of engineering would help enormously.

Advanced Diplomas

Overview

These qualifications have a practical focus, with topics inspired and driven by the current and future needs of the industry. EIT students acquire skills which are relevant, functional and can be implemented promptly and confidently in their workplaces.

 

Delivery Mode

These programs are comprised of live, interactive webinars, on-the-job assessments and course work. Students are given access to cutting-edge simulation software and our remote laboratories to fulfil some of the course’s practical requirements. EIT’s Advanced Diplomas are run on a part time intensive basis, to fit around the schedule of the full time professional. EIT’s Advanced Diplomas are delivered over 18 or 24 months, depending on the specific course.

Students are expected to attend scheduled live webinars, during which they are encouraged to interact with their lecturer and fellow students.

Graduate Certificates

Overview

EIT currently offers one Graduate Certificate, the 52764WA – Graduate Certificate in Renewable Energy Technology is an advanced program developed by industry specialists. Designed with an emphasis on vocational application, this course aims to impart practical skills which can be applied in the workplace.

This course is aimed at students who have already attained an undergraduate degree or can demonstrate significant industry experience combined with continuing professional development. It is presented at a considerably higher level than the Advanced Diploma and Bachelor Degrees, so students should be aware of its challenging nature.

Delivery Mode

This qualification is delivered online over 6 months part time, to facilitate full time work, mobility and distance learning. Students are expected to attend scheduled live webinars, during which they are encouraged to interact with their lecturer and fellow students.

To ensure students remain engaged and motivated, dedicated Learning Support Officers guide and assist them throughout their studies, and EIT’s Learning Management System provides a highly interactive college interface.

Entry Requirements

This Graduate Certificate in Renewable Energy Technologies program is an advanced program designed for individuals who may already have an undergraduate qualification such as a Bachelor Science in Engineering or higher or, if you are lacking this, relevant substantial experience in the subject area (subject to the approval of the Dean) combined with evidence of continuing professional development. The program involves depth and complexity in varied specialized contexts.

Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis and potential students include:

  • Practising engineers or technologists with advanced knowledge, experience and education in the subject (such as a relevant bachelor’s degree)
  • Practising engineers, technologists or technicians with demonstrated competence in a career relevant to the subject (and a relevant bachelor's degree, or subject to the approval of the Dean if this is lacking)
  • Engineers or technologists holding a bachelor’s degree from another discipline (such as mechanical and chemical engineering) wanting to up-skill in this area.

This program would not be suitable for a student with no relevant work experience or prior qualifications.
