Master Degrees

Science, maths and engineering graduates can become specialists in the engineering industry, with EIT's Master of Engineering degrees accredited by the Australian Government. Our Master of Engineering degrees provide students with the opportunity to design projects with academic applications and the potential to benefit and improve the engineering communities they serve. We deliver these qualifications in the Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Structural, and Industrial Automation fields. These qualifications are all offered online. Four of our Master of Engineering degrees are also offered on campus.

Our live, online interactive study mode is designed to facilitate full time work, mobility and distance learning. However, students are expected to ‘attend’ scheduled live webinars during which they interact with their local and internationally-based lecturers and fellow students. The practical components of the degree are acquired via cutting-edge simulation software and remote laboratories.

Our on-campus programs are presented in a blended learning format, which utilizes many of the technologies employed in our online delivery mode. These programs also include classroom sessions, practical lab exercises, assessments, class discussions and personal study.

Remote and on-campus students need support, encouragement and a go-to person. Our students are supported by dedicated Learning Support Officers (LSOs) and Course Coordinators for the duration of their studies, giving them a greater chance of success. Students studying our degrees will have a committed LSO for each unit of study.  

Why should I get a master's degree?

A master’s degree can open many doors. It can offer exceptional opportunities regarding career progression, job security, job satisfaction, higher pay, and networking benefits. A master degree can be particularly advantageous in the Engineering field, with high recognition from employers. According to a 2015 study by Georgetown University, Engineering professionals with a master’s degree earned an average salary increase of $17,000 in comparison to engineering professionals with only a bachelor’s degree.
