This course imparts detailed knowledge of the fundamental principles and concepts used in Clean Fuel Technology. This course focuses on identifying the source of fuel impurities, which negatively impact health and the environment. The second part of the course consists of clean fuel regulation, standards, and global trends in Clean Fuel Technology.
The worldwide refining industry is under continuous environmental pressure and market requirements for clean products to meet the growth of the transportation sector. With increasing environmental regulations, refineries are looking to decarbonise operations and produce as well as utilise cleaner fuels.
Complex refineries, containing many high-value conversion units, have a greater flexibility to produce cleaner fuels and lighter products than crude oil that contains higher sulphur levels.
The goal is to produce products that meet Euro-4/Euro-5 specifications. Thus, reducing the environmental impact caused due to SOx, NOx and other pollutants. For example, sulfur content in gasoline will be cut down from 500 ppm into 10 ppm, and in gasoil from 5,000 ppm into 10 ppm.
Thus, it is important to enhance the information on the subject of Clean Fuel Technology is critically significant than ever.
